Is The Lake House a CrossFit Gym?
We are an Individualized Group Fitness Gym and we are not affiliated with CrossFit. We differentiate from other gyms by creating a unique warm up and correct plan only for you and by including a functional body building track that is lower intensity and higher volume.
Someone familiar with CrossFit will be familiar with our training format and will be happy at The Lake House. Most of our workouts consist of a strength portion and then some form of Metabolic Conditioning Workout. The Lake House would love to get a team together for local CrossFit Competitions. But we're also looking forward to other fitness events like: Go Rucks, Spartan Races, Triathlons, Polar Plunges, Bike Rides, Dog Walks, and more. And let's not discount social events at the Gym and around the Lake.
What can I expect in the Sculpt Track?
Sculpt is a functional bodybuilding program for those wanting to look good, get strong, and fix muscle imbalances. The strength portion often contains supersets and the workouts are typically for completion with strict (non-kipping) movements. You can expect more unilateral movements and fewer complex gymnastics on this track.
This is the programming that best aligns with the most people's goals: to look better.
What can I expect in the Competitive Track?
Comp is all about getting better at the Sport of Fitness. Strength often consists of heavy weights or high volume movements with the occasional mobility and form session. Workouts are typically for time.
This track is typically for those that already have a good strength and movement base and are looking for getting to the next level.
Can I Lift Heavy?
Absolutely! If you are capable of lifting heavy and you have the form, mobility, and strength to get to 1RMs, get after it.
At the beginning and end of each cycle, we test in and out of our focus lifts and you'll have time to get your PRs. Throughout the cycle, we have heavy days and light days and sometimes we focus on support muscle groups instead of the primary muscle groups, all with the intention of getting you stronger, the smart way.
Do You Have Open Gym?
Our core focus is Group Fitness. We started this gym because we wanted to build a community, not offer another 24 hour gym. All of our classes times are lead by coaching staff.
In the future, we intend to offer additional personalized training plans where you will be able to work on your goals outside of normal class times. We are open to open gym in the future, but the community comes first.
